Sundays at Cibi ...Remembering Italy Click on links below to download flyers
April 20, 2008 Sundays at Cibi
Celebrating Italian Liberation day (Festa di Resistenza)
Reminiscent of a typical Italian Sunday dinner at Mama’s, Sundays at Cibi gives guests the chance to experience this lovely Italian tradition and Mama’s home cooking. Each Sunday at Cibi will celebrate an Italian holiday, traditions and foods from various regions of Italy.
Doors open at 11:00 am, so that guests can mill around the kitchen, while “Mama” cooks or engage in other family activities, like watching films and TV, playing games, or just discussing politics, philosophy and sports. A buffet dinner will be served at about 12:30 pm. After dinner, guests are welcome to stay and enjoy dessert and coffee, discussions of Italy and each other’s company.

An alter or table, with symbols of St. Joseph and traditional vegetarian foods (no meats), will be set up and a buffet dinner served. In keeping with tradition of donating food to the feast, guests will be asked to bring one canned food item to add to the table/alter. Food donations will go to a local food pantry. |
